Marcello Soutto Mayor Dutra Filho, known by his stage name Marcello Mayor, was born in Rio de Janeiro, in Botafogo.

He moved to Brasília as a child, at the age of six, due to his parents' transfer, who were civil servants. From an early age, he showed interest in music, influenced by the family environment, where quality music was always playing. His parents encouraged him from the beginning, enrolling him in guitar lessons at the age of 8, which he attended reluctantly, as the lessons were on Saturday afternoons and he preferred to play soccer with his friends. These lessons didn't last long, but the experience was essential in sowing his interest in music.

In his teenage years, he started buying music magazines and learned to play by himself, as besides the simple pleasure of singing and playing, he realized that it was also socially interesting, since friends liked music, and often the youth's program was to gather to play and sing.

His musical background was marked by MPB, Bossa Nova, and samba, influences he brought from Rio de Janeiro, and also by the boom of Brazilian rock in the 80s in Brasília.

In the late 80s, he started playing at the bar Pedágio Drinks, and from then on, he began playing in other bars and restaurants, such as Aspone, Trem do Lago, and Gordeixo’s, starting to receive fees for his performances. Over the years, he started singing at private and corporate events, an activity he still carries out today.

Although he initially did not plan a professional career in music, Marcello found in art a lasting passion and a source of personal fulfillment. His musical journey, marked by challenges and learning, is a reflection of his dedication and love for Brazilian music.

Since 2022, Marcello Mayor has been consolidating his presence on digital music platforms, in partnership with Tambaqui Records, gaining a great audience. Among his compositions, the samba de roda "Lavadeira" stands out, which has been very successful among internet users. In addition to "Lavadeira," the composer and singer has several other songs available on platforms, demonstrating the artist's constant evolution and creativity.
